Game of Thrones [TV]

Post by Spec8472 »

Anyone else been watching this?

I'm really enjoying Tyrion Lannister, played by Peter Dinklage. Very dry wit.

Thinking that once the series wraps up I'll go grab the books and read them.

I've been watching the show and enjoying it. I started reading the book in ep 2. I figure I'm 2 or 3 episodes worth of book past the most current ep. I must say I'm very very impressed so far the show hasn't deviated from the book at all even to the point of using some of the same dialog and quotes.

love the books , just haven't had a chance to catch it on the telly. If its even a quarter as a good , it will be a great series.Though its a quite complicated plot , i just wonder how they plan to let it play out.

I'll admit its been a year or so since reading the books but the series is following the books better than anything else I've ever seen before. Every time I watch a new episode, I look over at books one through three that are visible on my bookshelf and wonder is it time for the third reread now lol. Good books, and a very well followed series. I've only read the first 4 books, and am waiting for the fifth to hit paperback to buy.

Bought the first book, and was suprised by just how much the first few scenes in the show match the book.

Ok , just watched the first one and wow was it bloody awesome.
Haven't read the books in a few years but hey ,it seemed pretty accurate.like always, you imagine the characters somewhat different , but the acting was really well done. The costuming and settings were spot on.plus you cant help but wince knowing whats yet to come.poor Bran.

Because of this thread I went and watched all the ones which are currently out, I'm really liking it, and like Spec I love the imp.

I've of course heard of A Song of Ice and Fire, but I've never read it. I might have to start it once I finish my current trilogy.

Last episode is this Sunday/monday -- thankfully, it was renewed for another season (from the first or second episode, iirc)

ok now to find time to watch the next few.

The imp indeed rocks though to be honest there are no real Heroes and villains ( mostly) in this series. Everyone has strengths &flaws and its a matter of viewing things from their perspective . There is really that feeling of letting you make up your own mind. I do have my faves such as the imp , bran , john snow ,arya , sansa and Daneris etc but that might be flavored by foreknowledge gained by reading the books.
