So Spec (and anyone else on the other side of the date line): has the world ended yet?

It's supposed to happen at 6pm local time. So a few hours to go!

If the world is ending as predicted this time, only a portion of the population will disappear. The rest will be left here for a few months, and assuming any of them are fans of Fel's work, they'd be able to log on and warn us in other time zones that we have our final chance winding down.

Me? I don't worry about it. Whether it happens tonight at 6:00 PM local time, or 6,000 years from now, I'm ready.

I did. I figure if Spec doesn't answer, we're all doomed.

Hmm... are you sure? I think you missed the logically necessary complexities of the Rapture.

The real end days stuff can't start until the whole world has been gone over and all 144,000 (or was that 2 mil... 2 bil?) people are properly saved. If God didn't go for the fancy cool Rolling Rapture(pat pend) he must have gone for the traditional all at once rapture, which clearly won't happen until 6pm California time since that is where the prophet is. So we've got an hour or two before the ball drops, depending on whether God uses daylight savings time or not.

Either way we've got a while where Spec could answer, unless he's one of the elect and its a Rolling Rapture.

Actually, wrong.

There is no mention of the "Rapture" ANYWHERE in the biblical texts, not even the texts not included in the various versions of the bibles.

The Rapture is an invention of a single evangelical preacher from the late 1800's, whose name I don't recall off the top of my head. He invented it as a convenient bypass of the hardships and tribulations predicted during the endtimes of Revelation, what many call Armaggedon or the Apocalypse.

But, one thing the Christian bible DOES mention that applies to this situation is this little thing about false prophets....

You're thinking of John Nelson Darby in 1827.

@Spec: I loved that comic. It was awesome.

I just have a feeling that God (whichever God, Goddess, or nothing you believe in) is having a MASSIVE belly laugh right now...

Can't find it right now, but there was an comic (pretty sure it was SMBC) where 'God' was some pimply kid running some software.
Until then: http://www.smbc-comics.com/index.php?db ... 2073#comic
