It was about an obese kid who's initials were ELF. Seems that he was the offspring of a queen and a warrior and he was growing up in 'our world'. He was abused by family and 'friends'. So much so, that after making a sword in metal-shop he decided to 'end it all' by running himself through with said sword. This brought about his transformation into the buff guy who was going to bring the magical and non-magical worlds back together (I think?)

One scene of note was where some bullies killed his dog.

I don't remember the "Seems that he was the offspring of a queen and a warrior and he was growing up in 'our world'. He was abused by family and 'friends'. " part, but otherwise the story is: "From Within" by Unworthy1.

Since the story was never completed, I haven't re-read it in a long time.

The "Seems that he was the offspring of a queen and a warrior and he was growing up in 'our world'. He was abused by family and 'friends'. " part sounds like another story. In that story, when he got back to his world, he met some dragons and it turned out that he was a prince and his sister was the ruler of a kingdom. Something like that.

Sounds like From Within by Unworthy1. The protagonist is the 14-year-old Eric Lee Faye.

looking for an unfinished story on SOL(storiesonline.net). I know I don't have the title correct but it's something like "Giants in a sandbox". The premise is a broken man who has been a made a war criminal by the US govmt. An Alien is watching Earth from a base on the moon and is attacked by another alien race. She (the moon base alien land on Earth and makes a deal with the man. During this time the attacking aliens release a bio virus and kill good portion of the human population.

that should be a good start. thanks for the help.

if you click on the zora'a page, you will get a page 'Sorry, Can't find any stories for this author to display for you.'( not sure if it only happen to me). this isn't the only author that go to this kind page but if you have a direct link to the stories you can still see it, no idea why, maybe some part of the site is down or links are missing.

You may not see the story if your Access Level Setting is set to "Filtered", because of the codes on the story.

That sounds like one of the Druid stories of Lazlo Zalzac, except he was not married.

Blessings of a Curse - By Wayne Edward Clarke

further googling reveals his website where they are also up for sale
http://wayneedwardclarke.viviti.com/fan ... ce-fiction
In June 2009 I posted rough drafts of these books to a fiction website, and asked the readers to rate and critique them, and let me know how they compared to the best-sellers in their genres. They were given averaged ratings of 9.36 and 9.37 out of 10. I was flabbergasted by the hundreds of wildly enthusiastic email responses! Many wrote to say that one or the other is the best book they ever read, and one guy even threatened to hunt me down and duct-tape me to my computer chair until the sequels were finished!

I've since completely re-edited both of these books, with consideration for the suggestions of their many readers, and they are much improved for it. I know you'll enjoy them, and I'll have the next sequels out as soon as possible!

He just started re-posting People of the Tiger to SOL and also has it for free from his website.

For those interested, he's released the first part of the sequel to Blessings of A Curse now on his website for purchase. The first part is available immediately for download and the completed book will be sent when it's available.

Also a new website address:

Looking for a story I thought I read on SOL.

The main character was an engineer at an industrial automation firm (they made and installed things like convoyer systems). He left the company (or was fired) because the company wanted to use cheaper parts that what he specified on his designs. He started his own company doing smaller jobs that his ppoe did.

That's about all I can remember of the story.

Ring any bells for anyone?
