**whines** But I wanted the chapter NOW!!! Sorry bout that.

It's interesting. I wonder how many other "Generations" children there are left...

I'm not sure claiming the patents would be a good idea, because if he does, he'd probably be the wealthiest person in the IMPERIUM, even over the Empress herself. Maybe just claim one or two, to finance himself, maybe buy a small planet, you know...

And I had a thought while out and about today. The reason that Jason and Myleena are so good with Faey technology is that they are ENGINEERED to be good with the technology. And personally, because of some of the reasons listed in the first couple chapters, once he's trained fully, I believe that Jason will be better than she is... But that's just my thought.

So does this mean that you have another 30+ pages already worked up?

J-Man5
No, but it means you got a chapter before christmas instead of a 70 page chapter released probably after the new year.

Deal with it. ;)
Happy Happy Christmas. I love presents. Let's see Christmas is on Monday. So Saturday or Sunday sometime. Sounds good to me. I will unwrap it happily before Monday.

Thanks Fel!!!!!!!!!

I had a perfectly good theory why Jason was going to hate the Kimdori, then Fel took a pot shot at it at the very end of the chapter.

I figured that the Kimdori had discovered Karinne was going to do irrepairable harm to the empire, and indirectly the Kimdori, and manipulated events so Karis was wiped out. Then out of a sense of debt to the Karinne they decided to assist one of the few survivors of the house to reach his full potential.

The twister is the Kimdori were involved in the project, which makes Jason and Mylenna kin to the Kimdori. Much food for thought in this chapter. I wonder if it would hurt Jason if the Gestalt was removed?

Well, it's stated pretty clearly that it's entwined with his mind. So let's look at this metaphorically... would you hurt if someone pulled a finger off?

Very nice chapter. Thed introduction of Telepathic machines was interesting, I thought that it would come about since in one of the earlier chapters Jason said it was impossible. Very Very nice.

I wonder how much the Gestalt actually ampliefies Jasons power. At the moment he is stronger than 94% of the imperium. With the gestalt that would probably increase a fair bit.

Why does he have to get fully "trained," when the gasalt can interact with the Karinne main frame and teach him everything he has to know plus some?

All I can think about is that I can't wait to find out what Jason learns from the computer main frame. What else was kept secret from the rest of the faey that is only accessible by Jason and his sister? And also, Jason's weakest point in creating devices was his programming, now all he has to do is think to his gesalt what he wants it to do and it can translate that thought into programming language. Jason will be able to churn out inventions faster than ever.

Ok, so here is a problem though. If Jason has a big metal device stuck on his head, how are Jyslin and him going to ... um... do it? I mean, won't it get in the way? Well, Jason is known for streamlining devices and making things more ergonomic, I think the gasalt needs to become more ergonomic.

But man! I can't wait to see what Jason learns next!!!

pft, it's not that big. The device weighs about 70 grams (less than 1/8 of a pound), and all you can really see is the two prongs that extend under the eye and down in front of the ear. The device looks like an ornament, like a stylized metal band worn over the left ear. 7/8 of the device is hidden under the wearer's hair.

I drew a picture of a gestalt, and did a terrible drawing of Sora Karinne wearing hers. I'll ask M2 scan it tomorrow afternoon, she lives about 5 miles from me and her scanner works. She can pick up my spiral at work, scan it, throw up a pic of it, and bring my spiral back before I get home from work.

If she's willing to do it anyway. ;)

Hmm, I just had a thought. Its the fact that they are of 'The Generation' that causes Jason and his sister to be able to listen to the machine sendings. Now I am wondering if there is an effective 'sync ration' of how much one can detect the machines. I mean perhaps Jason or his sister will be able to communicate with the machines better than another, with the gestalt working better for some of the Generation than others.

More to the point I see Jason or his sister taking apart a gestalt or getting the scematics for one, trying to figure out how it works. Perhaps they are trying to improve it or something.

The gestalt can't implant data into his brain like that. Its interaction with his brain doesn't get that deep...that's why the Karinnes still had their academy. They still trained their people the same way the rest of the Faey did.

Even if it could, we would still get into that issue between what is knowledge and what is a skill. Only a Kimdori can teach a skill, not even the gestalt could perform that miracle.

But, the gestalt can download any pertinent data and store it in its OWN memory, and let Jason look at it. Armed with a manual at his mental fingertips and all the schematics he needs, he could easily tackle unfamiliar technology.

In this way, the gestalt acts as "external memory" for Jason's brain, like a USB flash drive, literally having a computer attached to his brain with all of its processing power and memory at his command. It can't teach him a skill and it can't download data directly into his brain, but so long as the gestalt keeps the data in its memory, Jason has complete access to it. He will "remember" it as long as his gestalt retains it in its memory. He could even memorize it into his own mind, like any other information. But as soon as the data is deleted from the gestalt, *poof*, he forgets it. Unless, of course, he made an effort to memorize it. ;)

Not that I want to spoil a nice possible plotline by mentioning it, but couldn't someone hack into his brain trough the gestalt?

I think you would need to be one of the Generation to do it. THe way I invisioned it, its sort of a Symbiote that operates in a manner similar to the Fey Telepathy. While its possible to get in through the gravband transmitter you would run into big problems unless you had a operating system that could interpret the way it sends informatiom and stores it and stuff. Unless you had the algorithm that could recognize telepathy and even send it, the best you could probably do is create white noise. However I probably made no sense and know nothing.

Why is it that i get the feeling that if Jason hadn't been wearing the gestalt
they wouldn't have made it pass the jamming satelites ?

Oh as to why if he has it would he need training ? Would you want a Weapon that had no Safety built into it ?

Jason's thoughts can be dangerous or even deadly right now ...without him even meaning to do something.

I'm supprised that Myleena or the Rest of the Squad haven't yet asked Jason about the Rail guns that the legion is using on Earth

i just had a thought from far left field, but, since Myleena is around she would know if black ops gave Jason the all access key pass card thing or if it was someone else. Is there a spoiler somewhere that tells us exactly who gave it to him?
