WWWBoard Nostalgia

Post by AdamX »

After days of work, many cigarettes, and a lot of pop, I have finished my little project. I have downloaded the messages from the old message board, removed the spam, and reindexed the lot of them.

They're available here:

Hope you all like this, as it's taken quite a bit of time and effort.

Looks interesting, especially because I wasn't around the first time. Thanks for taking the time and making the old posts available.

There's something funny going on - Mozilla on my Windows box shows a blank page.
I wonder why - the source code looks fine.

Mozilla on linux works fine so investigating might not be worth the trouble.

Well, it sure brings back memories... Too bad the old and deleted stiff can't be retrieved...

Well, if it was deleted through cPanel, which I doubt it was, it might still be in the trash can. Some of the messages were saved as a blank file, though, no way to retrieve them...

Might be able to pull the messages out of some of the spam messages, they might leave the text in the messages if they've set their spam-bots to reply.

That was a nice to see. I too miss even older boards.

I saw AMBER listed and that made me miss her. She was a waitress at a local resturant who turned me onto Fels writings years ago when she saw me reading other fantasy stuff at my booth.

AMBER are you still here? Or does anyone possibly have a line on her?

Wow, it was interesting to see the old board...although it is alot shorter. lol. I didn't notice how much spam there was until it was all condensed. And it made me realize how little I've posted here and there. *shrugs* interesting to think about since I've been following Fel's work for years.  :D
