I've never actually used paypal myself but I think it should be fine, considering that Ebay uses it extensively and lots of the buyers and sellers use it.

True, but remember Paypal is not an actual bank, and therefore not held to the standards of a bank. I know a lot of sites that use it for donations no problem, but there are also issues like when it went down what, a month ago? and people couldn't get out any money until it came back up.
