Hey Fel, thanks for giving me something to do an hour or so. I've been bored as hell lately. Many thanks.

Thank you Great stuff
Re: Draconian Measures, chapter 1.
Arrrggg... a new story. I must not read, I must not read..... please sir when can I have more??
Re: Draconian Measures, chapter 1.
I love the way this begins and am looking forward to the rest of the story. What is unique is that I live at the foot of that mountain.
Lookout mountain is not the typical mountian /\, but a 100 mile ridge, honeycombed with caverns such as is depicted in the story. In addition, a river runs along the top for much of the its entire length. From what I've been told, this is a unique situation - the only such river/mountain combination in the world. The mountain reaches it's head at a tight bend in the Tennessee river at the edge of the city of Chattanooga. Legend has it that in the late 1700s and early 1800s, pirates would set up at the bend to prey on those coming down the river. When river travelers could see the head of the mountain, they were to 'look out'.

Damn, dude. That's a BIG chapter. I started reading at about 8am, before going to work. By 9am I'm looking at the scrollbar going 'there surely can't be more?'.Fel wrote:This will be a short story (2-4 chapter)
Only you would define a 'short story' as something that's 70-150k words in length. The rest of the world calls a short story something that's between 1,000 and 20,000 words.
Just your first chapter is almost double the upper limit of that range at 36k words
Re: Draconian Measures, chapter 1.
Great ready, Fel. Hope you make it more than a 4 chapter story. I'd love to see the other critters that will craw out with the opening of the gates. With a big time bad guy it would make for a great series. Just can't wait!
