Re: Velocity Networks is now blocked by peerguardian.

depending on what version of windows you can  use the Add/Remove Windows programs, and remove IE. And I'm browsing on Firefox.  It's pretty nice, uses only 2 more megs of memory than explorer, and it's as stable as IE.  So far the only times I've been able to crash firefox is when it asks me if I wa...

Re: Velocity Networks is now blocked by peerguardian.

Oooh, does Firefox have a very good recommendation from you all?  I'm going to take a look at it.  I had been avoiding getting a different browser because I hated netscape, and I didn't like the minimalist third party browsers that didn't support java or some such. But why would I get rid of the blo...

Re: Subjugation.. *spoilers*

Someone already brought this up, and I wanted to reinforce it.  Since it is one of the major misconceptions of AI out there.  Too many AI movies where the AI emulate humans too well. Basically until you have sentience, all you have is just a programmed machine with some complicated software to make ...

Re: Velocity Networks is now blocked by peerguardian.

I've used peer guardian for a while, but it gets slow when the block list is large, so I also have bluetac's protowall, which blocks more than just tcp traffic and is much faster. I also have the hosts file in windows redirect some of the totally unnecessary adserver and trackbot hostnames rerouted ...

Re: Velocity Networks is now blocked by peerguardian.

Yeah, I added an exception to this specific IP address, it works sometimes for one of my blockers, and I haven't figured it out on the other blocker. (Yes I run multiple blockers)  But in the end, it's not too bad for me, I can deal with it. And this server does work very smoothly otherwise.  I've h...

Velocity Networks is now blocked by peerguardian.

I don't know how many of your on this list cares or not.  But plebian.net is hosted from Velocity Networks ip range.  And apparently Velocity Networks did something to get them on the spyware, ad tracking lists which peerguardian and other blockers reject. So I have to disable my peerguardian whenev...

Re: After a long vacation, Tarrin is back.

Amazing, great.. and the last part is making me a little sad.  I don't know what to think, it sounds like Tarrin is going to kill himself or something after everything was settled.  It's probably nothing as bad as that, but just as sad.  I can't decide which story that I want to read more, Subjugati...

Re: sub9 released

The slug is about the size of a .30 calibre rifle round. It's made of iron, with a laminated titanium casing, because the pure iron inside would mushroom when fired. Just a heads up, I saw a 0.22 calibre in chapter 6 somewhere.  It might be an older version though. And that is very cool!  The resis...

Re: sub9 released

Yeah now that I know what the difference between a rail gun and guass rifle is, I would definately call Jason's gun a Guass rifle.  For a Rail gun would either cause the slug to melt into a heap of plasma each time it was shot out because the slug would be connecting very high currents together, or ...

Re: sub9 released

How to make recoil absorber in gauss rifle? In ordinary rifle the gasses after the bullet leave the barrel "jerks" the gun away from shooter, if I am not mistaken. How to do something like that in the gauss rifle? So as you said ordinary guns have recoil absorbers vent gases ventrally so ...

Re: sub9 released

For all you people who rather not see equations and physics and math, please ignore my message, I'm just a math/physics nut, so I can't help it that I think in these terms/equations. Ok I did note the physics momentum of the rail gun slug = impulse the rail gun imparted on the slug = force rail gun ...

lol, yeah but if you're like me you have 40 different emails and you have no idea which one you put in for the registration, because at one time or another all of them had been your permanent one.  But services keep changing, free becomes pay, POP becomes non-POP.  and stuff like that. And I have so...

Re: sub9 released

Guess it's time to at least calm some of the conjecture, lol. ... This same highly focused impact gives it the ability to punch through some pretty formidable armor, combined with the slug's shape and its rifling. If it was just a little piece of meteor flying through space at 20,000 miles an hour,...

Sorry about the lack of replying, but I had lost my password for a while, and I recently found it.  I have to say I am loving the Subjagation series very much.  So much drool worthy tech is being mentioned that I forgot all the things I wanted to say back when i didn't know my password. Yeah the rev...

Re: Galloway Sucks, Edit:  impatient reader, post=jest

I finally found my password!  arg.. I couldn't comment for a while back. But I have got to put my two cents in. Mandarin and Cantonese are two separate spoken languages.  They were verbally developed long before the written language was used to unite the people in China by Emporer Qing Shihuang arou...
