Re: Links to Good Reading (Part 1)

Maybe they don't like people who want to download the whole story e.g. for offline reading.

Just one (naive) question: Why are the links to the chapters active and going nowhere instead of not being there at all?

Re: Kinda bad news.

While saving my reference file for Subjugation, I lost power, and it killed my ref file. Is the file gone or is it just corrupted and cannot be opened? A corrupted MS-Office document can often be recovered with the "import" of other programs (eg. MS Word -> OpenOffice, MS Excel -> MS-Acce...

Re: Kinda bad news.

So, how about we put together a fund to buy Fel a tape drive and about 365 tapes so he can do a backup every night and keep records for a year  ;D I suggest using a Gmail account as backup. It can be used as a file system (under linux): http://richard.jones.name/google-hacks/gmail-filesystem/gmail-...

Maybe he already has one in his community.
If they are good enough at adapting to fool the other telepathic races he wouldn't know that.

HS,
hoping that Fel likes his writing this time and doesn't trash the chapter again.

Re: Chapter 16 is done.

Suggestions: - When a thread with a title "Chapter XXX is done" is started by Fel read it from the beginning until the post where the link is posted (or look for the new chapter at the known locations). Try reading the chapter before reading the rest of the discussion. - What about posting...

Re: Subjugation

That's it.  I'm writing pilot chapters for 14 other books. NOW YOU PAY! Oh NO! Everyone, look what you've done... We almost made it to the next chapter, and now _that_. OTOH, 14 chapters of Fel's work would take some time to read - maybe long enough until the next chapter of Subjugation is released.

Looks interesting, especially because I wasn't around the first time. Thanks for taking the time and making the old posts available. There's something funny ...

Re: Sailing against the wind is possible.

Sailing against the wind (crossing, first steering a bit left to the direction the wind is coming from, then doing the same to the right, at an angle of may be 45, more or less, depending on the ship) should be possible, but (much) slower and IIRC Tarrin had to match a precise timeframe to successfu...

Just wondering: Does Fel have a Paypal account (or something similar) for donations? I just googled for "paypal": http://www.google.de/search?hl=de&q=paypal&meta=lr%3Dlang_de%7Clang_en I think its interesting that the second search hit is a warning about paypal http://www.paypalsu...

see "Introducing the Baen Free Library" by Eric Flint URL: http://www.baen.com/library/home.htm On Baen Free Library IIRC Baen Free Library only contains books that were published on paper. Self-publishing might be a way for now: http://www.hkbu.edu.hk/~ppp/WASP.html http://www.go-publish...

Re: Change to board software? (Login needed now?)

In my opinion it would not be very nice to force to register only to read the posts, e.g. to find out where now can one find most recent books. Requiring registering and login for writing posts... that might be justified. As an ordinary user I can agree with that. It suits me - reading anonymous an...
