Re: Finished new backup site
The mobo seems to be fried, but when I put a new one in, it still won't boot, and all of the other pieces check out in another computer. Ummm... I'm no expert by a longshot so forgive me if my suggestions seem too obvious, but have you checked to make sure your mobo is not grounding itself out to t...

Re: Spare time is evil.
you know..... I'm kind of surprised no-one has talked about the fact there is a direct bloodline connection indicated between the Elementalists and the "Lost Children of the Goddess". It might be the local variation of the Elves, but something tells me that both the Dwarves and the "C...

Re: Spare time is evil.
That wasn't helping, that was a bunch of scared punks too afraid to do anything themselves trying to direct the action without actually getting involved.

Re: Spare time is evil.
think it is because of 2 things:
All gods are afraid of being completely killed so they won't put their butts on the line.
They have been so beat down in the past that they are afraid even though they can see the One has been weakened.

Re: Female as main character
I agree with disliking female leads when the point is to promote an author's issue, but I'll dislike any lead if I feel he or she has fallen into that trap. Personally, I don't care if the lead is male or female, just as long as he or she was the right person to carry an interesting story. I think ...

Re: Female as main character
There won't BE a exploring werecat after being turned, unless it's by drinking a werecats blood. If a were knowingly turns a human, they're damned sure gonna make sure they know everything about it. A prudish werecat ain't gonna last long. Remember what Mist did to Kimmie to get her over that? Had ...

Re: Female as main character
I find it hard to identify with there point of view being male I think that why I like it sometimes, because it is an alien viewpoint to me. I can pretend to understand what drives a woman or just more readily suspend disbelief. I'm not a werecat but I think I'm getting a pretty good idea of how on...

Female as main character
OK.... this subject was suggested as a possible thread to start but no-one else started it so I guess I will. Personally, I don't care if the main is male or female as long as the story of their travels (ever notice how the main is always traveling from one bad situation to one even worse) is intere...

Re: Terry Goodkind book
Just weighing in with my own opinion here.... I have to say that I read "Wizards First Rule" when it first came out and I don't honestly remember enough about it to say the bad guy was too dark.....but I do remember loving it and the following stories up to the last I read before I forgot ...

The problem might be that it could be possible to accidently (sp?) give spoilers to a new reader who has not gotten to the last published work and might go to a FAQ immediately upon arrival.

Re: Not sure if this has been asked before
Sorry, I don't usually write on message boards and I definately rarely start topics... so not sure of proper etiquette on this sort of thing. And you're right, I was thinking more in terms of his divine powers getting stronger with followers. Don't forget that he is a "demi-god" at home......

Not sure if this has been asked before
And I just don't feel like reading EVERY post to find out...so... Since Tarrin seems to have granted himself a priest spell when he prayed a spell and felt it granted through himself, does that mean that if people started worshiping him he could become more powerful (or an actual Lessor god)? Next q...

Re: 100 and a question
I would think the Dwarven god would be suffering from the same problem as the Goddess. If she can't sense her children one way or the other, I doubt a lessor god would be able to. One of the gods hiding in the background may have taken over that position for them in that plane. I think Lessors are p...

Please don't hurt me
As you can see, I'm new. Found the Firestaff saga via a link placed in the fan forum of anouther web-writer. I now can't decide if I love or despise the individual who placed that story recommendation. I had completely lost myself in "Firestaff" and moved onto the Pyrosian epic all the whi...
